Prologue Day 2

Today was spent getting my bike ready to ride. The baggage handlers/ custom agents were not gentle, resulting in my needing to have the front wheel trued, and the disc brake straightened. But, it's all good now, and I was able to cruise the beachfront with two other tour participants, David from Saginaw, and John from near Indianapolis.
Our leaders, Nicole and Paul, have arrived, as have Gina and Dena from Seattle, Candy (Angela) from Squamish, and Larry from North Carolina.
Gina and Dena showed up with Carl, another rider on the Death Valley tour last year, who lives here in San Diego. He had picked them up at the airport and delivered their bikes to a local bike shop for assembly. Carl graciously hosted us for dinner at a restaurant his daughter manages, and will ride with us for the first two days of our trek up into the mountains.
Tomorrow , I think, will be a touristy day.
